The Potato Extravaganza


If you like potatoes or live music, you'll love the Potato Extravaganza. Packed full of great music, art and potato-related activities, this all day event features some of the best music that Michigan has to offer. The lineup includes Mustard Plug, Forever in Terror, Red I Flight, Rotation, Downtown Brown, Crackjaw, Mary Shaw and many other great local bands. In all, 15 bands are playing on 3 stages.

Happening all day today, July 26th, at The Beacon in Sandusky Michigan, The Potato Extravaganza is a good way to support local music and art in a fun, festival atmosphere.

Heatstock blues festival


It's a great weekend for blues at the 13th annual Heatstock Blues Festival. This Friday and Saturday, Heatstock hosts a lineup with some of the best music that Michigan has to offer. The two day event has food, drinks, music, prizes, a camp out and more all in a fun, laid back atmosphere. The Detroit Blues Society, The West Michigan Blues Society and The Kalamazoo Valley Blues Association will be at the festival along with Tom the Detroit videoman who will make a video of the event. Montana Boys


Who would have thought about heading to Montana for some great indie rock? Well, they're not really from Montana, but this group of guys from Grand Rapids have what it takes to get their music out. Coming off a national tour opening for The Breeders, the Montana Boys are back in Michigan and ready to rock for the hometown crowds.

The Montana Boys are new to the site, but they were highly recommended to me and I hope we can all give them a warm welcome. Take a minute to check them out, listen to their music and see what got them national recognition. If you're in the Grand Rapids area, check them out live tonight at Rocky's.
